  3. This self-paced, workbook-based course covers the NetWare 
  4. Management MAP (NMM) utility of NetWare Management Services (NMS). 
  5. NMM can be used as a stand-alone program, allowing a designated 
  6. user to see a logical view of the entire network.

  8. Following a brief description of the product╒s overall merits, 
  9. students are guided through a series of hands-on experiences and 
  10. installation instructions.

  22. Audience: NetWare system administrators, network technicians, and 
  23. anyone who is responsible for tracking and monitoring the logical 
  24. layout, configuration and status of a network. 
  25.  
  26. Prerequisites: NetWare v2.2 or v3.11 System Manager course or 
  27. equivalent. Familiarity with the following: hardware basics, DOS 
  28. basics, OS/2 basics, networking basics, distributed computing, and 
  29. connectivity information such as IPX/SPX and the SHELL.
  30.  
  31. Required Equipment: The following equipment is needed to work 
  32. through the hands-on exercises:
  33. Ñ An OS/2 v1.3 or above workstation, with a minimum of 8MB RAM, 
  34. connected to an active NetWare network
  35. Ñ 20MB hard disk space available after OS/2 and the Requester have 
  36. been loaded
  37. Ñ Access to the NetWare Management MAP User╒s Guide (comes with 
  38. purchase of NMM)
  39. Ñ A copy of NetWare Management MAP
  40. Additional recommendations include:
  41. Ñ 12MB RAM
  42. Ñ 80MB hard disk
  43. Ñ A NetWare v3.11 network with at least three v3.11 servers and 
  44. multiple workstations
  45. Ñ Available connectivity to a larger network with many servers, 
  46. cable segments, routers and nodes
  47.
